Isabelle Stremme - Soul full of Sunshine

ART THAT CELEBRATES LIFE

The artist Isabelle Stremme (*1981 in Cologne, lives in Hamburg) is the epitome of a creative multi-talent. She has made her way into the art world through an extraordinary combination of talent, curiosity and passion. She completed various courses, including one at the renowned Central St. Martins School in London (UK) and at the Museum of Contemporary Art & Design in Manila (Philippines), where she initially specialized in portrait painting. In addition, she gained valuable experience during a six-year artistic training in the studio of her artist father Christian Scheefe in the Alte Dosenfabrik in Hamburg-Altona. Although her beginnings lie in portrait painting of animals (especially the deer) and children, Isabelle developed a unique approach to abstract art over the years.

Her cheerful, life-affirming nature is reflected in her colourful, dynamic and experimental work. Above all, strong neon colours characterize her paintings, with pink becoming her unmistakable trademark – a colour she describes as her personal source of energy and inspiration.

In recent years, Isabelle has increasingly explored the universe and its energies, our origins, and the four powerful elements of nature. She deeply believes in the interconnectedness between the universe, human beings and nature, and that everything in existence is bound together by invisible energy flows.

Driven by this conviction, she feels a strong inner urge to lift natural beings — especially animals and plants that are endangered or often overlooked — onto an imaginary throne, celebrating them through her radiant colour palette and positive visual language. By pairing her expressive imagery with ironic or humorous quotes, Isabelle gives these creatures the stage and spotlight they truly deserve.

Her recent Planet Series, with its luminous pink, blue and yellow circular forms, extends this universal dialogue — visualizing cosmic harmony and the poetic interplay of all elements in our shared existence.

With her “Happy Art” works that radiate pure joie de vivre, Isabelle invites viewers into a world filled with colour, vitality and optimism. Her art stands for an unbridled courage to embrace life, a profound respect for nature as our greatest treasure, and a belief in art as a universal language that connects all living things.

Just in time for the 2024 Christmas season, Isabelle started a special collaboration for art and stationery lovers with BETHGE in Germany. The exclusive greeting cards and notebooks are available nationwide in the brand’s elegant stationery boutiques.

In spring 2025, Isabelle launched an exclusive collaboration with MINI (BMW) in Hamburg, culminating in a vibrant exhibition event in the MINI halls in June.
